Rs 475m to develop CP

The Central Province has received Rs 475 m for development and rehabilitation activities under the Government's development fund.

Central Provincial Road Development, Electricity and Power and Housing Minister Bandula Yalegama said Rs 270 m will be spent to renovate roads damaged in the province due to rains during the past couple of months.

It is identified that 121 roads in nine executive engineering divisions and 25 roads belonging to the Provincial Council are in need of renovations. The Minister said most main roads in the province will be upgraded to the 'carpet' level during the year.
