Petes win on first innings

Moratu Vidyalaya all-rounder Sanka Ramesh is the leading run getter and wicket taker for the current season for his school with 845 runs and 77 wickets. His performances was not sufficient to halt St Peter’s College, Bambalapitiya gain first innings in their inter-school Under-19 cricket match. In reply to Peterites healthy score of 286 for 7 declared Vidyalians were shot out for 153 runs with Sanka Ramesh top scoring with 40 runs and J de Silva had fine figures of 5 for 14. Following on visitors did much better to score 227 for 7 at stumps with Sanka Ramesh contributing 58 runs. J de Silva had a match-bag of 8 for 70.

Moratu Vidyalaya: 99 for 3 overnight 153 (Sanka Ramesh 40, J de Silva 5 for 14, Lahiru Jayaratne 2 for 35, M Perera 2 for 55) and 227 for 7 (Sanka Ramesh 58, Janitha Samarajeeva 45, Sujeeva Liyanage 38, Kalhara Peiris 32, Ishan Peiris 21, J de Silva 3 for 56).
