Three cops remanded

Three police personnel who allegedly attacked three persons in a restaurant in Bambalapitiya and stole a gold ring worth Rs 280,000 belonging to them were produced before an identification parade and remanded by Mount Lavinia Magistrate Nirosha Fernando yesterday.

The suspect attached to the Bambalapitiya police station had been involved in the attack on Wednesday night. The three men had lodged a complaint on the alleged attack and Bambalapitiya Police took the suspects into custody.

The suspects are residents of Nuwara Eliya, Sultanagoda and Weligama. Bambalapitiya Police are investigating.
