People not foolish to vote for UNP

International Monetary Cooperation Senior Minister Dr Sarath Amunugama said that he was quite sure that the people could not be cheated and would never be foolish to vote for the United National Party in the forthcoming LG Polls as they were aware of the fact that the UNP was not capable even to appoint a leader for the party.

The Minister said that the UNP helped terrorism and limited the army into barracks during their rule in the 2001 era. Dr Amunugama made these observations at an election meeting held at Madihe in Galagedera to get support for the UPFA candidates contesting in the Thumpane Pradeshiya Sabha.

He further said anybody could witness today the development work undertaken by the Government after ending three decades of war in this country.

Ex-members of the Thumpane Pradeshiya Sabha Lal Girinagama and Gamini Gunasekera also addressed the gathering.
