First Agrahara Ward opens today

The first Agrahara Ward in Sri Lanka built by the National Insurance
Trust Fund (NITF) at the Dambagalla Hospital in Moneragala for the
benefit of all state employees will be opened today concurrent to the
Deyata Kirula Exhibition, National Insurance Trust Fund Chairman Senaka
Abeygunasekara told the Daily News.
He said the National Insurance Trust Fund which has built the new
ward costing Rs 2.5 million will be vested in state employees by
Telecommunication and Information Technology Minister Ranjith
Siyambalapitiya in association with the Uva Province Chief Minister
Shasheendra Rajapaksa.
“The NITF has taken steps to provide hospital equipment valued at Rs
1.5 million for this new ward,” he said.
“The National Insurance Trust Fund will provide Agrahara Wards for
all the hospitals maintained by the Central Government and Provincial
Councils islandwide.” “This would benefit state employees and their
families who are members of the Agrahara Insurance Scheme up to year
2014,” said Abeygunasekara. |
