SLC Foundation cricketers excel

Sri Lanka Cricket Foundation under 19 cricketers who participated in the 11th All India T/20 National Championship returned to the Island with the runners up Trophy.

Akila Madhusanka who performed well with the bat was awarded the Best Batsman of the Tournament while Laksaka Osanka was named as the Best Wicket Keeper of the tournament.

Sri Lankan junior cricketers also came up with fine performances to bag four Man of the Match awards out four games they played during the tournament including the final.

The two invited foreign teams to participate were Sri Lanka Cricket Foundation team and Oman Cricket Foundation team. The local teams competed are Maharashtra CF, Tamil Nadu CF, Chandigarh CF, Andhra Pradesh CF, Haryana CF, Muscat (Oman), Uttar Pradesh CF, Chennai CF, Pune CF, Pondicherry CF, Hyderabad CF.

Beat Hyderabad for 6 wickets

Hyderabad 103 for 9 (Previnth 22, Malik 23, Abdul Manas 2 for 9, Prasad Malin 2 for 13).

Sri Lanka 105 for 4 in 18 Overs.(Laksaka Osanka 29,Akila Madusanka30 n.o., S Patterson 23 n.o. Heshan Yasanthika 15).

Man of the Match: Akila Madhusanka.


Beat Pondicherry by 10 wickets

Pondicherry 54 all out in 14.1 Overs (Lakshan Chathuranga 3 for 11,

Sri Lanka 59 for 0 in 3.4 overs. (Laksaka Osanka 37 n.o. Heshan Yasanthika 12 n.o.).

Beat Pune by 9 wickets

Pune 72 for 9 (Prasad Malin 4 for 11).

Sri Lanka 76 for 1 in 6.5 overs (Laksaka Osanka 45 n.o. Akila Madusanka 15).

Semi final:

Sri Lanka vs Haryana at Lal Bahadur Stadium.

Match ended in a tie and Sri Lanka won on ball out system 2-1.

Haryana 99 for 8 (A Samiet 24, K Naveen 32, Prasad Malin 3 for 11, Lakshan Chaturanga 2 for 27, Abdul Manas 2 for 11).

 Final lost to Hyderabad by 4 wickets.
