Father of five killed in collision

A 78-year-old father of five children, succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Homagama Hospital when his motorbicycle collided with a lorry at Jambalagashandiya in Athurugiriya recently. This was revealed at the inquest held by Homagama Coroner B H K Chinthaka Udaya Kumar on the death of Mohoppuge Don Gunasoma (78), of Kottawa Road, Athurugiriya.

Dr Dilini Weragala of the Homgagama hospital who performed the autopsy ruled that death was due to interior damages, resulting in internal haemorrhage and shock.

The Coroner recorded a verdict of accidental death.
