Kandy Youths make it three in a row

Kandy Youths Cricket Club registered their third successive win for
the season when they beat Nugegoda Sports Club by an innings and 10 runs
in their P Sara Trophy Cricket tournament match concluded at Katubedda
Campus grounds on Sunday.
Kandy Youths win was fashioned by two fine performances by old Rajans
and former Kandy CC cricketer Muditha Wijekoon and Old Antonian Prasad
Ranawaka.
Muditha Wijekoon opening the batting smashed a fine 110 which had 2
sixes and 10 fours off 130 balls and he put on 108 for the third wicket
and with Antonian Schoolboy night watch man Arvinda Premaratne who made
46 with 3 fours.
Prasad Ranawaka bowling his off spinners to a tidy length took 4 for
30 and followed up with 5 for 45 to end up with match figures.
Kandy Youths CC have now scored wins over Negombo CC, Kurunegala
Youths CC and Nugegoda CC in this year’s tournament.
The team is managed and coached by former Antonian and Kandy Youths
cricketer Anton Perera and Prasad Ranawaka.
