Badminton coaching camp

The opening of the Ihala Thaldeniya Junior School's outdoor badminton court and a badminton coaching camp will be held on February 3 at the school. The coaching is organized by the Sri Lanka Badminton Association as a part of the 'Gamin Ratata' National Badminton Development Program to popularize the game in the Awissawella region.

Children from five invited schools will participate in the coaching camp while Commonwealth Games participant Lasith Menaka and twelve times National Badminton Champion Chandrika de Silva will conduct the basic badminton training sessions during the programme.
