‘All should think about country’s future’

Senior Minister for Good Governance and Infrastructure Development Ratnasiri Wickramanayake said in Horana on Saturday that to gain a massive victory at the forthcoming Local Govt elections all the supporting parties and people should flock together around the People’s Alliance and make understand the masses that they should think of the country’s future and not of the stomach.

He was speaking at a meeting of the Horana SLFP Balamandalaya at SLFP Horana office premises to introduce the new contestants who already at the oncoming LG Polls from the Alliance for Horana UC and Horana PS. Minister Wickramanayake said, “It is true that the Cost of Living is very high. Prices of food commodities are too expensive. As a solution the Government takes short-term solutions, but they are not good for the country. The only solution for this situation is to increase the production.

The main problem is that there is no market for their production. So we should create a market for their production. The Government had started many development projects in the field of highways, electricity, aviation, irrigation and agriculture by spending collosal amount of money. The results of them will not reach the country in a day or two bat in a few years the people will be able to reap the harvest. Until then we have to face hardships.
