SL, W Indies ODIs over Rupavahini

Sri Lanka cricket fans are able to witness on television the three one-day Internationals between Sri Lanka and West Indies due to Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation intervention.

When the official TV for the series Ten Sports backed out four days ago from telecasting the one day series, Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation intervened to provide the production and telecasting of the matches minus the vital cameras and equipment.

SLRC has been producing and telecasting international cricket matches played in Sri Lanka since 1982 till the 1996 World Cup before the Cricket Board decided to give TV rights to international TV stations such as ESPN and Ten Sports.

The Sri Lanka Rupavahini Corporation is capable of handling the production and telecasting of matches in the future too, said its Chairman Sarath Kongahage.
