Air Force assures help in development drive

Pettah Police Division busted a Rs 1,000 forged
currency note racket following the arrest of four suspects. The
special Police squad recovered 260 forged Rs 1,000 notes from a shop
in the Pettah Police area.

Ghastly murders of old women
The murder of 56-year-old Sellaiyah Mariamma in
an estate line room in Opatha on July 21, 2008 shocked the Kahawatta
area. She was living all alone and was very weak because of her age.
She was strangled.
