Windies-Sri Lanka ODI venues changed

Sri Lanka Cricket yesterday announced that the three match series between Sri Lanka and the West Indies will be played at the SSC ground in Colombo on January 31, February 3 and 6 with all games as day matches.

Initially these matches were scheduled to be played at the Mahinda Rajapaksa International Cricket Stadium, Hambantota and R. Premadasa International Cricket Stadium, Colombo, which had been identified as World Cup venues.

However, SLC announced that in view of a directive issued by the International Cricket Council to the effect that no games should be played at any of the World Cup venues, SLC is compelled to make the changes for this series.
