SAARC symposium

The SAARC Cultural Centre in Colombo has organized the Symposium on Shared Heritage of Sculpture and the Decorative Arts, to promote cooperation among SAARC regional countries, SAARC Cultural Centre Director G L W Samarasinghe said. This symposium will be held at the National Art Gallery from January 27- 30.

According to Samarasinghe the program will be held on a grand scale. This will include workshops on sculptures, a photo and a sculpture exhibition, he said. The symposium will be a major point for artistic communities of the SAARC member countries.

The SAARC Cultural Centre will exhibit around 400 rare photographs to coincide with the event. People can buy important photographs printed in post card size. A trade fair in antique replicas of every SAARC country has also been organized along with this event, he said.

Organizers along with the symposium, have drawn up a plan to open a web portal to encompass every SAARC country websites.
