US Embassy led Fulbright workshop today:
Insight into academic exchange programs
The Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs of the US State
Department, in coordination with the United States-Sri Lanka Fulbright
Commission and the US Embassy in Sri Lanka, will host a regional
Fulbright Program workshop in Colombo. The workshop will bring together
staff from Fulbright Commissions and US embassies in the South and
Central Asia region to share best practices and information about
Fulbright and other academic exchange programs in the region.
Deputy Assistant Secretary for Academic Programs Alina Romanowski and
Deputy Chief of Mission at the US Embassy to Sri Lanka and the Maldives
Valerie Fowler will provide opening remarks, followed by key note
address on US Sri Lanka relations from former Sri Lankan Ambassador to
the United States Dr Jayantha Dhanapala and the Under Secretary General
for Disarmament Affairs at the Untied Nations. James R Moore Public
Diplomacy Deputy Assistant Secretary in the Bureau of South and Central
Asian Affairs will also give remarks.
Journalists are invited to cover the plenary session of the workshop
from 0900 to 1000 on January 26.
