Houses for youth with less income

The National Youth Services Council (NYSC) has launched a project to
provide 332 houses for less income youth to mark International Youth
Year.

The council will provide Rs 100,000 financial assistance for each
youth to build a house.
The beneficiary or his family should possess a plot of land.
He should have at least one year membership in a youth club
affiliated to the NYSC. Every Divisional Secretariat Division will get
one house.
Every Divisional Secretariat Division has a Youth Club Provincial
Federation.
The funds will be handed over to the Provincial Federation and the
Federation official should provide the beneficiary with raw material
worth Rs 100,000 to build the house.
The accepted plan will be given to all beneficiaries. All houses
should be according to the type plan.
The Provincial Federation should select the beneficiary of the
federation.
The NYSC has planned to lay the foundation stone in a day all over
the island.
The building of all the houses should be completed by July 2011 end.
The funds allocated by the NYSC is Rs 3,200,000.
The project is a concept of Youth Affairs and Skills Development
Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.
