Orit Corporate Branding and Talent Development Manager Varuna De Silva, Orit Human Resources General Manager V K Jayawardane, Seethawaka Orit Human Resources Manager Ravindra Rajapakse, Management Assistant of the Ministry Shantha Ratnayake and Public Relations Officer of the Deputy Resettlement Minister Justin Lazarus at the handing over.

In response to a request of the Resettlement Ministry, Orit, the biggest manufacturer of denim jeans in Sri Lanka, donated some urgently needed items.

Due to continuous rain in the North and East, over 800,000 people have been affected by the recent floods, creating unprecedented problems. Out of this total, Batticaloa District has over 500,000 affected citizens, who are served by 228 disaster relief centres.

In order to provide temporary relief to the distressed people, the Ministry requested drinking water, infant food, medicine, dry rations and useable clothing.

Orit responded with 1000 cans of mineral water, 300 large packs of milk powder and 500 denim jeans, which were handed over to the Ministry.
