Reality show with classical touch

Shakthi TV has launched an innovative reality dance show called ‘Classical Dance Stars’ to make a platform to encourage our own young talented dancers from all parts of the country regardless of there ethnical background. This program brings racial harmony through our own cultural talents among the young generation as well.

Shakthi Classical Dance Stars is a competition purely dedicated to classical dances only. Three rounds of this competition will decide who will goes to the Grand Finale to clinch the cash price. More than 100 Teams applied from all parts of the country. Twenty-seven teams were selected according to their talents. Each team should have around four and eight members in there respective teams. Each team will have to perform in three categories:

A well renowned and most experienced panel of judges will select the best dance troupe of the country as the Classical Dance Star. The judge panel is chaired by Vasuki Jegatheeswaran. The panel comprises Shivanandi Haridarshan and Nirmala John. In the initial stages veteran artistes such as Leelambigai Selvaraja, Padmini Dahanayake, and Rajani Selvanayagam also judged the competition.

Forty-eight episodes will be telecast on every Saturday and Sunday at 7.30 pm on Shakthi TV. First round will have 27 episodes. Three teams will participate in each episode.

The winners will receive a cash prize valued more than Rs 400,000.
