Roads to be renovated

The Western Province Rural Development Ministry has allocated Rs 2 million for the renovation of rural roads in Avissawella electorate.

The renovation work of six roads in Pahala Hanwella, Walawwatta, Kosgama, Eswatta, Kiriwandala and Hingurala have already commenced.

Meanwhile, G A Gunasena our Ginigathena special corr reported that a new road from Alagala to Hiyarapitiya in the Ambagamuwa (Ginigathena) DS division in the Nuwara Eliya district has been constructed by the Ambagamuwa Divisional Secretariat under the Gama Neguma program.

The Economic Development Ministry funded Rs 500,000 for construction of the new road which was a long felt need for both the villages - Alagala and Hiyarapitiya - with the commissioning of the new road villagers have been able to travel conveniently.
