‘Vidulamu Lanka’ makes progress

The Power and Energy ministry yesterday expressed confidence that its electricity for all objective may be a reality before the end of 2012 thanks to the ‘Vidulamu Lanka’ electricity supply program implemented under the Balaya Lanka (Power Lanka) Vision of Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka.

The progress achieved under the electrification program in other districts last year is : Kalutara - 90 percent, Matara - 96 percent, Galle - 98, Ratnapura - 88, Kegalle - 79, Moneragala - 89, Anuradhapura - 73, Polonnaruwa - 84, Vavuniya - 68, Killinochchi - 10, Jaffna - 72, Mulaitivu - 16, Badulla - 82, Nuwara Eliya - 86, Kurunegala - 86, Trincomalee - 57, Puttalam - 90, Mannar - 44, Batticaloa - 55, Kandy - 91, Ampara - 68 and Matale 84.
