Royal College Panadura put up a stunning performance to beat the more fancied Wesley College team outright by eight wickets in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which concluded at the Panadura Esplanade yesterday.

Wesley: 138 and 129 (L Perera 28, R Kavinga 4 for 39, D Vimukthi 2 for 49, S Dananjaya 2 for 27).

Royal Panadura: 191 (D Gayan 47, C Ruchiranga 47, K Ashan 20, S Jayawardena 6 for 54, M Muzammil 3 for 32) and 79 for 2 (D Vimukthi 56 n.o) C.D.

Easy for De Mazenod

Spinner Jude Madushan took a matchbag of eight wickets to help De Mazenod College beat Kalutara MV outright by an ten wickets in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which concluded at Kandana yesterday.

De Mazenod: 184 and 4 for no loss

Bens edge out Thurstan

St Benedictís College edged out Thurstan College by eleven runs on the first innings in their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match which ended in a draw at Thurstan ground yesterday.

St Benedictís: 232 and 167 for 5 (R Sheron 36, V Fernando 41, R Weerasinghe 36, R Wijewickrema 2 for 26).

Opener Shehan Fernando and Denham Perera hammered sparkling centuries and shared a second wicket stand of 189 runs to put St Peterís College in command on the opening day of their inter school under 19 cricket tournament match against Holy Cross College which began at Kalutara yesterday.

St. Peterís: 371 for 8 decl (S. Fernando 165, D. Perera 126).

Peterites beaten

Royal College Panadura edged out St. Peterís College by two wickets in the last ball of the innings in their inter school under 13 division one cricket tournament second semifinal match worked off at the MCA ground in Wijerama Mawatha yesterday. Royal Panadura will now take on Richmond College Galle in the division one tournament final on Friday at the same venue.

St Peterís: 212 for 8 in 50 overs (P Obeysekera 67, L Rodrigo 64, A Vimukthi 2 for 50).
