Fraudster nabbed

The Kandy Police Special Investigation Unit nabbed a suspect who allegedly swindling people in Kandy and the suburbs of money on the promise of offering job opportunities in banks.

According to police the suspect had masqueraded as an employee of the Presidential Secretariat and the Financial and Planning Department with high profile of political contacts.

He had swindled over one million rupees from people. Police arrested the suspect on a complaint made by a retired bank officer in Matale and a Grama Seva officer in Kandy.

He had prepared faked documents and rubber seals to deceive the people.
