Agrarian Service officer granted bail

The Agrarian Service officer and a research assistant individual who were arrested by the Dambulla Police for the alleged misappropriation of a stock of fertilizer at the Dambulla Agrarian Service Centre were yesterday enlarged on cash bail each in a sum of Rs 300,000 by Kandy High Court Judge Preethi Pathman Surasena. The value of the fertilizer misappropriated is Rs 250,800.

They had earlier been arrested by the Dambulla Police in this connection and released Rs 10,000 cash bail each after being produced before Court. State Counsel Ms Thushani Kumarasiri prayed court for either an increase in the quantum of bail or in the alternative order that the suspects be remanded since they had misappropriated State property.
