Sports school for Nattandiya

A new sports school will be set up in Nattandiya this year. Children between the ages of six to 18 years will be admitted to the school.

They will be trained in swimming, badminton, table tennis, basketball, soccer and volleyball by coaches from Sri Lanka and abroad. A fitness centre too would be set up in the school. The intention in setting up the school will be to bring about friendship and understanding between children of different communities through sports.

The standard of sports in Nattandiya and surrounding areas too would improve as a result according to the school’s co-ordinator Lisa Fingerhut.
