Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project

Positive response

The response from hotels for the Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project has been positive and encouraging while some hotels are lagging to join the project.

This has become a challenge and the project will endeavour to attract more hotels through incentives.

There are many hotels who have joined the Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project under the SWITCH-Asia Program and 350 hotels are expected to join at the end of three years time, SWITCH-Asia Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project Consultant Director Srilal Miththapala told Daily News Business.

He said the Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project under the SWITCH-Asia Program has had an participation of 218 hotels representing both SMEs and key players in the hospitality industry currently.

The European Commission funded Greening Sri Lanka Hotels Project implemented by the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce has taken the green message to the West coast, the Southern and Eastern regions, the Cultural Triangle, the Central and the hill country through awareness seminars.
