Lankans have the advantage over England

The Sri Lanka under 19 team will be looking to exploit the home conditions when they take on the touring England Under 19 team in the opening youth Test match commencing at the Galle International Stadium today.

The home side captained by all rounder Bhanuka Rajapaksa is in good form having excelled for their respective schools and provinces in the ongoing domestic tournaments.

In contrast the visitors are yet to make their appearance and their only warm up match was also washed out due to bad weather at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala.

The teams:

Sri Lanka U-19: Bhanuka Rajapaksa (captain), Sanitha de Mel, Lasith Abeyratne, Dananjaya de Silva, Kaushalya Gajasinghe, Lahiru Jayaratne, Angelo Jayasinghe, Supechala Jayatilleke, Chaturanga Kumara, Yasoda Lanka, Maduka Liyanapathiranage, Saranga Rajaguru, Ramith Rambukwella and Duleeka Tissakuttige.

England U-19: Lewis Gregory (captain), Adam Ball, Daniel Bell, Christian Davis, Matt Dunn, Ben Foakes, Atiq Javid, Tymal Mills, Tom Milnes, Jack Parsons, Rammy Singh, Gurman Randhava, Adam Rossington, Abdrew Salter, Jack Sheppard, Shiv Thakor, Sam Wood. (C.D)
