Seven out of 10 missing fishermen found

Seven fishermen who went missing on January 11 at deep sea off Pottuvil had been rescued by a fishing trawler of Kudawella yesterday. The fishermen's relatives had informed the Fisheries Department that the fishermen were not returned and no communication could be made. The Fisheries Department sent a message immediately to all fishing vessels and to the Sri Lanka Navy about the missing fishermen.

A fishing trawler of Kudawella called 'Laktharu' have found the three boats together with seven fishermen about 70 nautical miles away from Kudawella. The rescued fishermen will be brought to the Kudawella Fishing harbour today. The Fisheries Department with the assistance Sri Lanka Navy are continuing their search operations to spot the other three fishermen and their fishing boat.
