Special leave for flood-hit

Public Administration and Home Affairs Minister W D J Seneviratne has
decided to grant special leave with payment to all public sector
employees who have been unable to report to work due to persisting
inclement weather and flood situation.
This decision was arrived at a special meeting with Ministry
officials at the Ministry premises yesterday. The circular pertaining to
this decision would be sent to institutions in the coming few days, a
Ministry official told the Daily News.
Public servants would receive this special leave with the approval of
the Grama Niladari Officer and the Divisional Secretariat of the area.
The Minister had taken this decision considering the large number of
complaints made by public sector employees of their difficulties to
attend to work. |
