Industry and Commerce Minister Rishard Bathuideen
launched a detailed action plan calendarised by month the Ministry
auditorium yesterday. This is for the 1.2 billion rupee trade and
commerce development agenda of the Government for the year 2011.

Increase in export revenue
Sri Lanka’s total export revenue has increased
by 13.5 percent from January to November 2010. It reached the
highest export revenue per a month in November amounting to US $ 793
million as against US $ 790 million in October, Sri Lanka Export

Tea industry sees good year ahead
High prices, good weather anticipated:
The tea industry is optimistic about this year’s
tea prices as there will be a strong market for high grown as well
as low grown teas. Industrialists are looking forward to attractive
prices from the Dimbula quality season during the first quarter of
