Mahela and Dilshan attract highest reserve price at IPL

Former Sri Lanka captain Mahela Jayawardene and dashing opener Tillekaratne Dilshan are the two Sri Lankan players to attract the highest reserve price of US $400,000 ahead of the next year’s IPL players’ auction which is to be held in Bangalore on January 8 and 9.

Altogether a total of 21 players have been slotted in the highest bracket which includes West Indian legend Brian Lara who retired from international cricket four years ago and retired Australian wicket keeper batsman Adam Gilchrist. Sri Lanka captain Kumar Sangakkara who captained Kings XI Punjab in the previous IPL tournament has been slotted in the second highest category which has a reserve price of US $ 300,000. Meanwhile World record holder Muttiah Muralitharan who played a major role for Chennai Super Kings in the previous IPL Seasons and young all rounder Angelo Mathews have also been slotted in the second category.
