Rs 1.4m babul haul seized

The Modera police has recovered 14 kilos of Babul valued over Rs 1.4
million from a house at Henamulla in Ganumulla area yesterday morning.
The raid was conducted by a special police team attached to the
Modera police led by Chief Inspector OIC Modera Police C M Samson.
Investigations directed by Colombo DIG Anura Senanayake assisted by
SP Palitha Siriwardena and ASP Muditha Pusella had revealed that the
hard drug had been prepared to be sold near Colombo schools for the use
of schoolchildren.
The Modera police had also arrested a suspect with the hard drug.
He will be produced before court today after recording his statement,
OIC Samson said.
Meanwhile Grandpass police had arrested a woman with 130 grams of
ganja and several packets of heroin concealed in her possession. OIC
Grandpass Police Chief Inspector P Karavita said that the suspect woman
will be produced before court today.
