CIMA (UK) interviews SLAASMB DG
Sri Lanka Accounting and Auditing Standards Monitoring Board
(SLAASMB) Director General Ajith Ratnayake became the first Sri Lankan
to be interviewed by 'Financial Management' under the theme One 2 One.
'Financial Management' is the journal of the Chartered Institute of
Management Accountants (CIMA) of the United Kingdom and is distributed
to 172,000 members and students of the institute in 165 countries.
The interview was published in its December 2010 publication with
attention drawn to it in both the cover page and the contents page.
CIMA is the world's largest and leading professional body of
management accountants.
The topics discussed in the interview include SLAASMB's approach to
regulation, current priorities of SLAASMB, future of financial reporting
regulation in the region, effects of the global financial crisis, issues
facing accountants worldwide and steps required to make the global
economy less vulnerable.
SLAASMB is the statutory regulator for financial reporting and
auditing of listed companies, banks, insurance companies and other
specified business enterprises in Sri Lanka.
Ajith Ratnayake has been its Director General since its inception.
