Health Minister busy on green campaign
Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena left for Singapore last Saturday
on an invitation from Singaporean Green Building Council. The Minister
is on an official visit to Khoo Tech Puat hospital (KTP) in order to do
a basic study on Green Hospital Concept (GHC).
The Minister hopes to get insights from GHC on how the concept would
be utilized in Sri Lanka to maintain the hospital network with
sustainable practices, and thereby improve the sanitary conditions of
both patients and hospital environments.
The KTP has been acknowledged internationally and has earned a Green
Mark Platinum award on its GHC. The Minister will also study the
concept; Sustainable Green Construction’ with a view to implementing it
at home hospitals in an appropriate manner. |
