Total lunar eclipse today

The last eclipse for this year will be a total lunar eclipse.

The eclipse begins today at 10.59 am Sri Lanka standard time. The eclipse occurs at 1.47 pm and ends at 4.35 pm. The eclipse will be visible in America, Greenland and Iceland, Western Europe, Eastern Asia, Japan, Australia and New Zealand day time.

the eclipse is not visible to Sri Lanka as it occurs during the day, said Colombo University Senior Lecturer in Physics Dr Chandana Jayaratne.
