Dialog Champions League commences

The Dialog Champions League which was temporarily postponed due to bad weather commenced on Wednesday with to matches worked off. Sri Lanka Army which met the lowly place Java lane team from Slave Island ahd to settle for a draw at CR&FC ground.

Both teams failed to score in the first session of play and it was Soldiers who found the net early in the second half through the boot of MNM Izadeen in the 49th minute. It took nearly half an hour for the Slave Islanders to find the equalizer through MS Zulfikar.

In the second game on the same day saw Sri Lanka Air Force outplay Ratnam Sports Club from Kotahena two goals to nil at the Sugathadasa stadium. Air men who got to the front in the first session of play slamming two goals maintained the lead trough out the game to be worthy winners. This victory also put the Airmen a step forward while the Ratnam SC had top down further from their position in the Points atable.

Meanwhile the football fans will get the opportunity of witnessing top class soccer with as much as ten games scheduled to be played before the Christmas day.
