in their companies.

Speaking to Daily News Business Dell Country Manager, Shermal
Jayatilaka said implementing efficient data services and solutions
enable customers to devote more of their IT budgets to innovation and to
reduce the storage cost by over 50 percent.
He was speaking at the launch of Dell Efficient Data Centre (EDC)
recently.
"For many companies, maintaining and running the existing
infrastructure accounts for 80 percent of their IT budget and by
implementing a Dell Efficient Data Centre to reduce it to less than 50
percent, facilitates freeing up a significant amount of money that could
be used for innovation and reinvestment in strategic projects,"
Jayatilaka said.
The demands on IT have improved exponentially. Organizations need
servers to help them manage large amounts of data, mine it, process it
and turn it into actionable business intelligence. Virtualization is an
important segment and it has given organizations a fundamentally
different way to manage their IT resources. "Dell EDC helps to deliver
more efficient IT solutions that work harder in service of their
customers as we take a different approach by putting the customers'
needs first. Thus, it benefits the consumers in a greater manner," he
said.
During the operations of Dell in Sri Lanka the performance has shown
an upward trend. C de S |
