Beware of second AH1N1 outbreak

Health Minister Maithripala Sirisena yesterday warned of a second outbreak of Swine Flu (AH1N1 virus) and instructed provincial Heath Ministers to issue vaccines immediately to all parties at risk. All hospitals should be fully prepared to face the second wave of the influenza and preventive methods should be taken by all heath officials, he said.

AH1N1 vaccines would be handed over to health care officials who have direct contact with the patients.

All heads of the Hospitals were informed by the Ministry to make sure that fresh stocks of AH1N1 vaccines are available and that their staff are immunized with the vaccine.
