Check SLS standard when buying

Sri Lankan Industrialists and producers have to produce standard and quality goods, said Technology and Research Minister Pavithra Wanniarachchi.

She was addressing the media after visiting the Sri Lanka Standard Institute (SLSI) at Narahenpita.

Sri Lankan consumers are not keen enough to check the SLS certificate. The Ministry's aim is to encourage consumers to buy SLS certified products. She requested the public to consider this quality standard as the basic factor of a product.

Most consumers only check the price and the expiry date, but the most important factor is the degree of quality of a product, the Minister said.
