Holy Family Convent win three events

Holy Family Convent, Colombo dominated the girls squash finals of the Nalanda open championships at Nalanda Courts yesterday. The under 13, 15, and 17 events were won by the Familians.

Girls under 13: Madushi beat Khadija (both from Holy Family) 13-11, 11-9, 6-11, 11-4. Girls under 15: Madushi beat Nirmani (both from Holy Family) 13-11,7-11, 11-9, 15-3. Girls under 17: Dinuki beat Bhagya (both from Holy Family) 11-7, 11-4, 11-8. Royal became the under 11 champions when Pasan beat Lakite 11-0, 11-1, 11-1. In the under 13 boys semi finals Deevan of Nalanda beat another Nalandian Thisal to 1-11, 11/2, 11-6, 11-7.

Nalandians won the semi final in boys under 15 where Arjun of Nalanda defeated his schoolmate 11-3, 13-11, 11-9.S Liyanage of Nalanda beat W Lalithif of Royal in under 17 boys event by 15-13, 11-6, 8-11, 11-8. Ashan Dep of St Joseph's became the champion in the boys under 19 event by beating Royalist Lakshan by 11-3, 11-3, 11-0.
