Training for youth Parliament members
The Youth Affairs and Skills Development Ministry will train Youth
Parliament members on the rules and regulations of the Youth Parliament
in a three day program starting today until December10. The aim of the
Youth Parliament is to train the younger generation to take over future
political leadership.
The inaugural ceremony will be held today at the National Folk Arts
Centre under the patronage of Youth Affairs Minister Dullas Alahapperuma.
The Youth Parliament elections were held in 332 Divisional Secretariat
Divisions under the supervision of the Divisional Secretaries and the
Youth Service officers.
The first session of the Youth Parliament will be held on January 12
under the patronage of President Mahinda Rajapaksa.
