Betrayal of war heroes - Keheliya

Mass Media and Information Minister Keheliya Rambukwella criticized the statement made by UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya. He identified this statement as a total betrayal of the country's war heroes who sacrificed their lives for the sake of the country's sovereignty.

He further said the statement is an outcome of a conspiracy to fulfill an objective which could not be achieved by the international puppets through the war.

"This statement cannot be taken as a simple matter. This is a clear evidence of the bankruptcy of the UNP and its present standpoint over terrorism," he said.

He regretted that the UNP being a responsible political party tarnishing its image through terrorism.

Only a traitor can resort to this type of betrayal, he said.

He should apologize to the nation for the statement he made betraying the country's war heroes, the Minister added.
