Recovery service for flood hit vehicles

Casons Rent A Car has started a free service of recovery and consultancy for motor vehicles at Casons office in Borella to help motor vehicle owners who got into trouble with their vehicles during the recent floods.

Rent a Car Managing Director M C Zakir Ahamed said that over 3,000 cars in the country had to be discarded during the floods because most of the drivers were unaware of what should be done in that situation.

Flooded roads give serious damages to the car engine and the electronic components of the vehicle. When the vehicle is driven during floods water sucks into the engine and damages it causing costly repairs.

When the water level is above axel level motorists should not drive any further beyond that point and they should never keep the engine running or start in the water.

Ahamed has started this service to make the drivers aware of the important points so that they can take maximum precautions in the future as heavy rainfall is expected very often.

CIC Foods caters to national need

The CIC Group, a well renowned organization in Sri Lanka recently forayed into a new area by launching a new division known as CIC Foods.

The underlining theme of the launch of CIC Foods was Deshayata Jeevayak which encapsulates the focus of the company, which is to offer an array of food products that will strengthen the nutritional level of the Sri Lankan public. The company is currently marketing various products such as canned fish. CIC canned fish is a successful product that the company has introduced to the local market. The quality of this product is clearly visible as it has become extremely popular among the consumers in a short period of time, which in turn has generated good sales.

CIC Foods plans to venture into other food categories in the near future such as the soya meat and malted milk. The aim of the company is to ensure that all food products that are marketed are made to stringent quality standards and are available to the consumers at an affordable price.

The purpose of CIC Foods is to uplift the nutritional level of the people by providing hygienic and high quality food products.

Such a purpose will no doubt bring recognition to the country and assist Sri Lanka on the road to becoming the pride of Asia.

Apeksha opens in Nugegoda

Apeksha Fertility Care Centre had its launching ceremony in Nugegoda last week.

Most of the Gynecologists attached to Colombo South Teaching Hospital and the Sri Jayawardenapura General Hospital were present at this ceremony.

Many other specialists and gynecologists attended the event.

Apeksha Fertility Care Centre Managing Director Dr Champa Nelson said that the technology and expertise adequate to treat infertility is already available in the country. Yet the technology is centralized in the urban areas.

Therefore, Apeksha has initiated transferring the technology to the suburban areas by opening this centre in South Colombo.

Apeksha Fertility Care Centre brings new hope to fulfill the dreams of having a baby. Its culture of service is a counselling based treatment different from the ordinary consultation system.

The individual attention and care given to the patients makes Apeksha special. The focus is not only on the patients' sub fertility problem but also their social set up, Dr Nelson said.
