UNP has double standard policy - Minister Yapa

Environment Minister Anura Priyadarshana Yapa said in Parliament yesterday that the UNP maintains a double standard policy to tarnish Sri Lanka’s political image among the international community. The Minister was speaking at the third reading debate on the Appropriation Bill 2011 under the financial head of the Environment Ministry.

Minister Yapa said UNP MP Sajith Premadasa expresses one opinion to the Sri Lankans over one media while another group of UNP expresses a totally different opinion to English language newspapers. He was speaking of the two views maintained by UNP MPs on war crimes.

The Minister stated the UNP’s stance they express to the international community is not the same they express to Sri Lanka.

“As a result of their double standard policy the UNP is deteriorating and they have no political future,” he said.
