Injured sailor back home

Sri Lankan sailor, who was rescued by Saudi Border Guards in Jazan, southern port city in Saudi Arabia arrived Sri Lanka, Monday after having a minor surgery at a hospital in Saudi Arabia.

On receiving a SOS from the captain of a ship enroot to Malaysia from Spain, Saudi Border Guards rescued Janaka Susanth Balasuriya (40) who was injured while carrying out his duty as a plumber in the liner. Border Guard Director Maj Gen Zameem Al-Sawat said the rescue operation took place Friday.

Prompt measures were taken to provide the sailor with medical care in accordance with international regulations, according to the Commander.
