Only LTTE committed war crimes - Sajith

UNP MP Sajith Premadasa said in Parliament yesterday that war crimes were committed only by the LTTE in Sri Lanka.

He was responding to a Point of Order raised by Construction and Engineering Services, Housing and Common Amenities Minister Wimal Weerawansa yesterday in respect of a statement made by UNP Deputy Leader Karu Jayasuriya to a weekend English language newspaper expressing the need for investigating alleged war crimes.

MP Premadasa was speaking at the debate on the third reading of the Appreciation Bill under the head of Health Ministry when Minister Weerawansa raised the point of order.

Minister Weerawansa thanked MP Sajith Premadasa for commending his stance on this matter.
