Sailing Regatta of Navy

A sailing regatta will be held to mark the Diamond Jubilee of the Sri Lanka Navy in the seas of Galle Face Colombo, on December 8 from 1pm to 5.30pm, organized by Sri Lanka Navy.

According to Navy Media sources there will be races in GP14 and Enterprise sailing boats, in military and open categories. The first race starts at 1pm followed by second and third back to back races. Bangladesh, India, Pakistan and Sri Lanka have already confirmed the participation and the organizing committee is looking forward to receiving applications from several other countries.

In the open event nine sister clubs of the Sri Lanka Yachting Association are participating except Ruhuna. Awards and certificates will be awarded to the first,second and third places. The chief guest will be the Navy Commander Vice Admiral Thisara Samarasinghe.
