Rs 361 m spent to import rabies vaccine

The Health Ministry spent Rs 361 million last year for vaccines imported for rabies prevention, said Chief Government Whip Minister Dinesh Gunawardena in Parliament Saturday.

Vaccination of dogs, sterilisation and sterile vaccination of dogs are being carried out to prevent rabies, the Minister said.

He said that the money spent to prevent rabies has gone up every year. He was responding to a question raised by UNP MP Wasantha Aluvihare.
