Abimansala to be completed before scheduled date
The countdown to the opening of the Abimansala at Anuradhapura has
already begun with its construction executed by Sri Lanka Engineer
Service (SLE) soldiers.
The Abimansala, the brainchild of Army Commander Lieutenant General
Jagath Jayasuriya, designed exclusively to house totally dependent
disabled war heroes on rotational basis for rest and recreation, is
spearheaded by the Seva Vanitha Army Branch (SVAB), presided by Mrs.
Manjulika Jayasuriya under the theme ‘Brave Hearts’ with the support of
donors and philanthropists. The ‘Abimansala’ is to be completed earlier
than planned within less than eight months.
The Abimansala to be equipped with most modern technical equipment
that fit disabilities of dependent war heroes, is expected to
accommodate family members of war heroes too, who would be taken in for
post therapeutic treatment for a short period.
The first of its kind in the country, it is expected to be opened in
mid January. |
