While generating self-employment opportunities among the rural
community, the Project will also improve the health and nutrient
standards of schoolchildren of the area.
Twelve unemployed women will run the sales and marketing team at the
Centre where yoghurt, bottled and packed varieties of pasteurized milk
and other milk-related items will be produced.
These milk-products are to be distributed among pupils of 10 schools
in the region, contributing towards healthier nutrition levels.
Addressing the participants of the project and wellwishers, German
Ambassador Jens Ploetner said. "It is quite absurd that people spend a
lot of money on imported milk-powder, when this region is so much
suitable for dairy-farming.
"We are happy to have given this resilient community a helping hand
to start this milk business.
"I am sure that by wisely reinvesting future profits, they will be
able to expand production rapidly." |
