Ranaviu Suwanda literary awards

The "Ranaviru Suwanda" literary awards which recognized the literary excellence of the Security Forces and Police personnel and their family members was held at the John De Silva Memorial Theatre yesterday.

Awards were presented to both servicemen and their family members who excelled in multiple events at the 'Ranaviru Suwanda' Literary contest.

The cultural events which was a part of yesterday's colourful ceremony showcased the rich artistic talents of war heroes and their family members.

The 'Ranaviru Suwanda' literary festival is a platform for Security Forces and Police personnel and their family members to showcase their inherent talents in the field of arts.

It also aims at bringing out hidden talents of Security Forces, Police personnel and their family members while supporting them to sharpen their skills and achieve greater heights 'Ranaviru Seva' Authority Chairman Padma Wettewa said.

The annual "Ranaviru Suwanda" literary festival is organized by the 'Ranaviru Seva' Authority with the help of other stakeholders.

Chief of Defence Staff and Air Force Commander Air Chief Marshall Roshan Gunetilleke was the Chief guest on the occasion.

Director General, Media Centre for National Security Lakshman Hulugalle, 'Ranaviru Seva' Authority Chairman Padma Wettewa along with high ranking defence officials and heads of other supporting organizations along with forces personnel and their family members participated.
